At VSW, we strive to create a welcoming community that promotes diversity, inclusion, and respect for all. Our mission is to provide adults with developmental disabilities a safe and supportive environment to help them achieve purposeful lives through the development of work skills. We provide a space where members can connect, learn, and find their identity.
Our History
Established in 1966, VSW originated as a community-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting its members by fostering an environment that nurtures their mental and social welfare, while providing job services for adults with disabilities and permanent supportive work options .
Our Activities
We provide a wide array of activities and events designed to engage and support every community member, encompassing Permanent supportive work and Community Supportive work options, Volunteer Opportunities, Social Gatherings, and Educational Programs. We strive to offer something meaningful for everyone, fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging. In doing so, VSW becomes an essential component of the continuum of care for the disabled community, ensuring that our initiatives contribute significantly to their mental health, well-being, and empowerment, all while providing job services for adults with disabilities within the Fox Valley area of Illinois.
